How we hold what you share
Privacy Policy
Updated August 14, 2026
Arise Church cares about how your information is held. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect what is private — especially your journal and personal notes.
Who we are
Arise Church (“we,” “us”) operates this website and The Bridge — our online home for sermons, music, prayer, Scripture tools, personal journals, and community features for the house in Lansing. Space-sharing and the Organization Portal on this same site are part of our facilities ministry.
What this covers
This policy applies when you create an account, sign in, use journals and Scripture tools, join community features you are invited into, request space, or contact us.
Account information
Depending on how you use the site, we may store:
- Username, display name, and a hashed password (never stored as plain text).
- Information you submit when you request access, for leadership review.
- Session data needed to keep you signed in on your device.
- Feature access choices set by leadership.
Your private journal and notes
Journal entries, prophetic words, visions, Clarity check-ins, season notes, and Scripture notes you keep for yourself are encrypted so they are not readable as ordinary text on our servers. Leadership does not open your private journal or Clarity as part of normal operation. We do not sell that content. You are responsible for your password and any recovery key. Optional backups you download remain locked — keep them somewhere only you control.
What can be seen by others
Some features are shared by design. If you use them, that content leaves your private vault:
- Wall submissions you offer for review; approved items may appear on the wall.
- Prayer-chain notes and shared prayer calendar coverage.
- Live community chat and presence while you are online (meant to be temporary, not a permanent public archive).
- House Space participation when that feature is open for your account.
- Words you choose to send to another member.
- Sermon questions you send to leadership.
Leadership access
Pastors and designated leadership may use operational tools: member approval, feature toggles, wall review, prayer-chain vaults for notes you submit, space-sharing schedules, and house content management. Private encrypted journals and Clarity check-ins are not part of routine leadership reading. If you submit something into a shared channel, that submission is visible to the people who operate that channel.
Space sharing and the Organization Portal
Requests to use rooms are stored so Operations can approve times, manage the calendar, and keep the building safe. That may include names, contact details, requested rooms and hours, insurance documents you upload, and scheduling history. This information is for house operations, not for sale. Payment details, when used, are handled only as needed for that request.
How we use information
We use what we collect to run The Bridge, keep private content locked to your account, operate shared prayer and house life, review what you submit into shared channels, approve members, administer space sharing, send notifications you enable, protect the service, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information. We do not use private journal or Clarity content for advertising.
Service providers
Trusted processors host and run the service on our instructions. They are not given your spiritual content to market:
- Website hosting and media storage for sermons, music, and files.
- Database services for accounts, operational data, and encrypted vault storage.
- Licensed Scripture text providers (including NASB® where enabled).
- Optional AI processors for features leadership turns on (for example sermon transcription, original-language study, or pastoral tools limited to leadership accounts).
- Push notification services if you enable alerts.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and local device storage so you stay signed in, remember preferences (such as your place in Scripture), and keep the app working. We do not use third-party advertising trackers for behavioral ads on The Bridge. Signing out or clearing site data ends that session on the device.
Children
The Bridge is intended for adults and mature members of the house. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to the contact below and we will take appropriate steps.
How long we keep data
Account and vault data are kept while your account remains active. Shared operational records (prayer coverage, space-sharing schedules) may be kept as needed for the house. Temporary chat is not designed as a permanent public archive. You may download a copy of your journal where the app provides export tools. If you ask us to close an account, we will delete or de-identify personal vault data we control, subject to legal needs and ordinary backup cycles.
Security
We use encryption for private vault content, hashed passwords, access controls, and standard cloud security practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Protect your password and recovery materials. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us and change your password.
Your choices
You can update or delete journal entries and Clarity check-ins in the app, download your data where export is available, turn notifications off in your device or browser, and request account closure by writing to the contact below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights of access, correction, deletion, or portability. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Scripture text
Scripture quotations taken from the (NASB®) New American Standard Bible®, Copyright © 1960, 1971, 1977, 1995, 2020 by The Lockman Foundation. Used by permission. All rights reserved. www.Lockman.org. Licensed text is streamed for in-app reading and is not sold by us.
Changes
We may update this policy as the house and the site grow. The date at the top will change when we do. When changes are material, we will also notice you in the app or on the site. Continued use after the effective date means you have had a chance to read the new wording.
